What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is a term used to describe the inflammation of the joints. There are more than 100 different types of arthritis, with varying causes and treatment methods, however the most common are:

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

An autoimmune condition that makes your immune system attack your body. It confuses the soft lining of your joints for a virus or bacteria and breaks it down.

Osteoarthritis (OA)

This is the most common type of arthritis. It is the degeneration of the cartilage at your joints. As the bones rub against each other, they expose nerves which triggers the associating pain.
