Where Stress Manifests in the Body & How Yoga Can Help

Corpse Pose (Savasana)

3. Corpse Pose (Savasana)

Savasana can be done laying on the mat, ground, or bed. Simply lay down on your back, spread the feet hip width distance apart. The arms can be on the side of the body with the palms either facing up or down. While savasana is usually done at the end of a yoga practice, it can be done anytime you need it. Engage in this pose sparingly if you have any back injuries or suffer from acidity as laying on the back can aggravate it.

Savasana is extremely helpful in relieving stress, anxiety and insomnia. Furthermore, it can reduce high blood pressure and heart rate.

Although stress cannot be completely eliminated, taking the time out everyday to tend to the mind and body can really help to keep us calm and collected even in the face of uncertainty.
