What Should You Avoid If You Have Sciatica?

As with any ailment, you don’t want to unknowingly aggravate the condition. There are certain things you should avoid if you have sciatica. Here are some of them:

– Saturated fats e.g. processed foods, fried food, dairy high in fat, etc.
– They increase inflammation
– Don’t carry items in your back pocket
– Tight bottoms such as pants and skirts
– Sedentary lifestyle
– Sitting for too long
– Being overweight
– Uncomfortable shoes and high heels

There are certain exercises you should avoid if you have sciatica. Find them below:

– Over-stretching the hamstrings
– Straight leg sit-ups
– Abdominal stretches
– Heavy deadlifts
– Most leg exercises
– Full body squats
