Yoga as a Symbol for Unity
In light of the recent BLM protests and anti-racist movements, Modi also addressed yoga as a symbol of equality. “Yoga enhances our quest for a healthier planet. It has emerged as a force for unity and deepens the bonds of humanity. It does not discriminate. It goes beyond race, color, gender, faith and nations,” he said. “Regular practice of yoga gives emotional strength and empathy. We begin to understand that others would be going through the same struggle as us, so we become a shoulder of support for someone in need of it.”
President Ram Nath Kovind echoed his statements saying, “ancient science of yoga is India’s great gift to the world.”
Both Narendra Modi and Ram Nath Kovind shared images and videos of their yoga practice on social media to encourage citizens of India and all over the world, to make yoga a regular part of their everyday lives.
Whenever I get time, I practice Yoga Nidra once or twice a week.
It furthers overall well-being, relaxes the mind, reduces stress and anxiety. You will find many videos of Yoga Nidra on the net. I’m sharing a video each in English and Hindi. https://t.co/oLCz3Idnro

Now, the biggest metropolitans in the country, Mumbai and Delhi have incorporated yoga routines as a part of their COVID treatment. Patients admitted to the healthcare centers here are taught and encouraged to practice immunity-boosting yoga asanas and pranayama techniques.
Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Patanjali CEO Acharya Balkrishna claim, “The recovery rate of COVID-19 is improving and the fatality rate is decreasing as Indian citizens perform yoga and use traditional methods to enhance their immunity,” as reported by Livemint. While immediate recovery post a single yoga session isn’t possible, it’s a good place to start.
