What Are the Symptoms of Snoring?

Besides the characteristic noise, snoring is sometimes associated with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a disorder in which breathing stops cyclically during sleep, causing restlessness and insomnia among other conditions.

When it’s not associated with OSA, snoring could be a result of several factors ranging from the simple anatomy of the mouth structures, to sleep position and nasal problems.

Other contributing factors are associated with gender (males are more prone to the condition), age, dietary or drinking habits, insomnia, weight and family history.
