Don’t Get Too Much Sleep

When I first started my training in Ayurveda, several years ago my teacher told me that “sleeping in is not a luxury.” As a young teenager, that could not have been farther from the truth for me. As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize how right she was. Staying up late into the night and sleeping into the day can be extremely detrimental to your physical and mental wellbeing. Throwing off the circadian rhythm can lead to low quality sleep and increased anxiety. Deep restorative sleep is the anecdote for a stressed out mind and body.

Learning to find the rhythm of our bodies, synchronizing our schedule with that of nature and taking the time for adequate rest will go a long way in managing stress productively.
